Superior Quartz Glass Construction Philips globes are developed with proprietary OEM quality quartz glass, providing excellent lifespan with original performance. The stems and bulbs are constructed from quartz, which is substantially stronger and more stable than conventional glass due to its uniformly symmetrical molecular structure.
Enhanced Temperature Resistance The unique properties of quartz provide substantially higher resistance to extremely high temperatures. The tungsten filament can reach temperatures up to 2,650°C, while the stem and bulb can reach temperatures up to 800°C. This increased temperature resistance is critical to the service life of the globe.
