Weber DCOE Accelerator Pump Jet 55 (76801-055)
The Weber DCOE Accelerator Pump Jet is a critical component in the accelerator pump circuit, specifically engineered to deliver precise fuel metering during throttle transitions. This size 55 jet is calibrated to provide optimal fuel enrichment when the throttle is opened quickly, preventing hesitation and ensuring smooth acceleration.
Key Features
- Precision Calibration: Size 55 opening provides exact fuel flow rate for optimal performance
- High-Quality Construction: Made from brass for durability and corrosion resistance
- Size Marking: Calibration size is permanently engraved on the jet for easy identification
- Complete Kit: Includes alloy washer that should be renewed with jet replacement
Technical Specifications
- Part Number: 76801-055
- Size: 55 (0.055" diameter)
- Material: Brass
- Thread Type: Standard Weber DCOE specification
- Includes: Jet and sealing washer
Function
The accelerator pump jet is installed under a plug between the float bowl and intake manifold on DCOE series carburetors. When the throttle is opened, part of this jet extends into the carburetor throat and sprays additional fuel to enrich the mixture for acceleration, eliminating the momentary lean condition that can cause stumbling or hesitation.
Tuning Guidelines
- Use the smallest jet size that prevents popping or stumbling during acceleration
- Increasing jet size provides more fuel during acceleration
- Decreasing jet size creates a leaner acceleration condition
- Proper sizing prevents the characteristic "gasp" or bog during throttle transitions
Maintenance Notes
- Replace the alloy sealing washer when installing new jet
- Jets can become plugged with debris and should be inspected regularly
- The #55 opening represents one of the smaller calibrations available
- Clean installation is critical for proper fuel metering
